Family Veterinary Clinic is an experienced and certified Crofton veterinary pet clinic that serves residents in Crofton, Gambrills, and Bowie and their pets. Family Veterinary Clinic works with compassion and a desire to nurture and care for each and every pet as if they were their own. The veterinary animal hospital and clinic proudly serves Crofton, MD, as a pets' home-away-from-home with the finest care and attention.
Family Veterinary Clinic was established in 1982 by Dr. Linda DeChambeau and Dr. Seth Koch. The name comes from the fact that it was attached to their home and the clinic operated as a family business. It is known by locals as a place where people and their pets would feel at home - a place that reflected a view of the bond between families and animals. In May 2002, Dr. Kristin Varner and her husband, Patrick Maslar, took over Family Veterinary Clinic and kept the name, because it reflects values and traditions they wished to continue and promote.
Family Veterinary Clinic believes that with a strong partnership between community, owners, and the local Crofton veterinary center it can provide the best foundation for ensuring the well being of any pet. FVC places value on ensuring that owners are well-informed on general issues surrounding pet preventative care, as well as how to determine when your pet may need emergency veterinary care.
As technological advancement began to accelerate, it is important to maintain a personal touch and outreach in veterinary medical care. Therefore, importance is placed on reaching out to pet owners, to not only care for their pets, but also to inform and educate them, with the goal of becoming partners with them in their pets' health. FVC practices high quality medicine and surgery, utilizing diagnostics to get a diagnosis. This means a systematic approach at determining exactly what is wrong with an animal before undertaking any action.
As the local Crofton veterinary, they stress absolute safety in surgery. All lab work is either sent out or done in our in-house lab to rule out any pre-existing conditions that cannot be detected clinically. Their surgery suite is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Since each pet is different, we apply an anesthetic protocol tailored to the individual pet, based on the animal's specific needs.
